The story of Eva Visser, 22 years

2022, 25 years

At the age of 22, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

My symptoms were not taken seriously at first.

At the age of 21, I went to the GP with a lump in my breast,

but the GP thought it was nothing to worry about.

One year later, I did get a referral from another GP.

Then, with the help of an ultrasound, biopsy, and mammogram, it turned out to be breast cancer.

A very painful method of examination.

I find it extremely important that young girls, from the time they develop breasts, are checked.

The chance of breast cancer at a young age is small, but not impossible.

If I had had the opportunity to get an early check-up of my breasts with the help of an early warning scan,

I would have caught it much earlier and the tumor would never have grown to 6 centimeters.

Early detection of breast cancer makes a big difference.

The treatments would have been different, resulting in fewer side effects after the treatments.

With the Early Warning Scan, breast cancer can be detected at an early stage in the future.

Getting breast cancer is terrible, but a late diagnosis makes it even worse.

And I wouldn't wish that on any young woman.

Additionally, it is a wonderful invention that the Early Warning Scan can look at breast tissue in a painless way.

I sincerely hope that the Early Warning Scan can help all girls and young women in the future with the painless, early detection of breast cancer.
