The hard numbers about breast cancer

Reading and interpreting numbers is very hard.

It can easily lead to mistakes and wrong interpretations.
That is why we solely use the definitive numbers from IKNL/NKR.

If you hover with your mouse over a bar in the graph you will see the number of people diagnosed with breast cancer in that specific age group.

The 18.000 victims in our society

The consequences of a breast cancer diagnosis have sever impact on the diagnosed woman as on their partner and social environment.
The pressure on health care is very high as are the costs.

Employees of both the women and their partners are also severly impacted by the diagnosis.

As many as 65% of these victimes have the age to actively participate in the labor process. These are more than 12.000 women. From this group 13% is diagnosed with DCIS. DCIS means that there may be a preliminary stage of breast cancer.
