Annotation

Paulette Kreté is shocked when it turns out that ten years of mammograms have not worked for her.

She discovers her breast cancer herself.

Mammography never seems to work for young women, with all the dramatic consequences that entails.

Following her diagnosis, Paulette's partner devises a completely different form of diagnostics that can detect breast cancer at a very early stage: the  Early Warning Scan.

Early detection can make treatments easier and limit their consequences.

In Poepen in het Park, Paulette Kreté provides insight into the unprecedented effects of her breast cancer treatment and the residual damage she is left with – damage that is unpredictable and often unknown.

Ze founded the YvYa foundation, aware of the breast cancer. The foundation aims to make the development of the Early Warning Scan possible and to make it available to all women so that damage from breast cancer treatment is limited.
